“Celebrityism, stated simply, is the worship of celebrities as some sort of demigods, watching their every move and looking up to them as if they are something more than humans.”

I’ve often wondered why (oh why) I have an interest in the lives of celebrities, and this link explains it! I’m part of a cult! So, why is it, I ask myself? Is it because I would much rather read about someone else’s life — someone I can envy one day, and diss the next…all…just because? Is it that I need a reprieve from my own stresses, especially around money, and so need to “escape” into someone else’s life for awhile? Lots to ponder on this…

So a question that comes to mind is…how much power does money have over someone becoming famous? And, as this question affects more than just celebrities, it just leads to more discussion around fame…which will continue in other postings…

To your prosperity,

Sue
