Temptations for Leaders
There are probably going to be a few references in this blog to topics such as this one, where a leader succumbs to the temptations of monetary and material gifts in order to fulfill their own personal desires. In this article which showed up today, it speaks to a highly-respected US senator who (allegedly) has accepted gifts such as renovations on his vacation home, vehicles, etc.
By learning of such scenarios, we gain a better understanding of the illusions we live with. In our innocence, we see what we want to see, and that is…that ALL of our leaders are trustworthy, in their integrity, honest, and seek to do the best job they can in our best interest. Not in THEIR own best interest. Not for THEIR profit. Not to meet a desire in them, but to meet the needs of all.
I hold the vision in my mind that some day, in my lifetime, I am shown the true leaders — the ones that work on behalf of the good of all.

Interesting times…
I’m having a bit of a dilemma and, of course, it pertains to money. I sit here now with tons of ideas — for this book, for other books, for many initiatives that are coming to and through me now. Time-wise, I wonder…if I look for a source of income outside of my initiatives (which are currently non-income generating) what will that do? How will that either detract me from my life-purpose, or support it?
In terms of finding “employment” or a “JOB job,” I am looking to do something that utilizes my skill sets effectively, keeps my interest, doesn’t make me feel guilty for taking up to 40 hours per week away from my own projects, and pays me a salary that does more than just pay my bills. I have applied to a few jobs, and the waiting to hear while they make a decision (even post-interview) is causing my interest in that job to wane. Yet, I wonder — do I do something, just for the sake of making money?
That was my “old” me. Now, I like to do things that mean something, that have value on an individual and global level, and make positive differences in the world.
This week is a critical week for me because my bank account is nearly overdrafted to the max while I wait out the journey to see what manifests. Ultimately, my desire would be to spend all of my “working” hours (I like to have a balance in my life) doing the projects that are coming through me. They feel extremely meaningful and ultimately beneficial on a far-reaching scale, and I will use the powers of my positive thinking and intention to see that manifest. However, in the meantime, while I am waiting for this to happen, do I get a job? Hmmm…..
I ponder this, yet focus on my initiatives while I have the time. I feel very grateful.

The Value/Purpose Of An Education
I came across an article today that focuses on the declining value of getting a college education — for some vocations. In relation to that, I have a family member who started university taking one path, and changed after a year to the business faculty, realizing in that first year that what they were pursuing would not “pay off” in the end. As it turns out, they haven’t yet been able to find a great-paying career-type job in their field, so have felt that their university experience was “a waste of time and money.”
It costs a lot of money to attend university, and if the intent of the facility, the faculty and the students is to have the students employable in a higher-salary range, what happens if this doesn’t occur? Where does the responsibility lay?
I know that often educational institutes have to examine trends, and make recommendations on paths to follow for the end-result being a high salary. Sometimes it is to meet a rising need — ie shortage of nurses, right now — and sometimes, it is just to entice people into fields because of the income potential.
If money didn’t exist…if it wasn’t an element in our decision-making process, and we were moved to go where our passion lay, I wonder how many people in our educational institutions would be in a different faculty, or not at that educational institute at all?
Let’s pause for a moment with that thought…what would YOU be doing right now, if money wasn’t a factor in your passion?

A Little Help For Writing My Book
I took a free tele-class on a new program that I think is going to help me with the focus I am lacking regarding the writing of my book. It’s an 8-week program that starts tomorrow, and it’s to produce a mini-book and an on-line journal for same. I’m very drawn to the process…now, just need the MONEY to pay for the course!

To Your Prosperity
I’ve been intuitively guided to sign each of my posts with “To Your Prosperity.” Asking myself the question of why this is, I find the answer in the different definitions of prosperity.
Prosperity:
- an economic state of growth with rising profits and full employment
- the condition of prospering; having good fortune
- wealth from the old English word “weal”, which means “well-being” or “welfare”. The term was originally an adjective to describe the possession of such qualities.
- success, good fortune, wealth
- the condition of being prosperous; having good fortune; successfulness; affluence; riches; success
The opposite of which is “poverty,” defined as:
- the state of having little or no money and few or no material possessions
- Poverty is deprivation, the denial of access to those things which make a life of dignity possible, including not only food, shelter and safe drinking water, but also such as ‘intangibles’ as the opportunity to learn, to engage in meaningful employment or to enjoy the respect of one’s fellow citizens.
- The quality or state of being poor or indigent; want or scarcity of means of subsistence; indigence; need; Any deficiency of elements or resources that are needed or desired, or that constitute richness; as, poverty of soil; poverty of the blood; poverty of ideas
My wish to all people has nothing to do with money — it has to do with an abundance of peace, health, happiness and well-being for all. I can see where the definitions have aligned with this wish — can you?
To your prosperity,
Sue
